On the occasion of Milano Autoclassica, one of the main international events which took place last weekend in November, large public participation at the press conference held at the ASI village.
During the debate which took place on Saturday afternoon and in which the new book by Danilo Castellarin dedicated to the great climbing champion Edoardo Lualdi Gabardi was presented, a discussion took place on the racing world of the 60s and 70s and in particular on the hillclimb races which saw the presence of past champions, one of them being Carlo Facetti.
During this event, the prestigious ASI Gold Plate was also awarded to the De Tomaso Pantera Group 4 which won the first edition of the 1973 Giro Automobilistico d'Italia fifty years ago driven by Mario Casoni who, due to an unexpected indisposition, was unable to participate to the celebration of his victory. The ASI Gold Plate is the highest recognition awarded to cars which, after a careful examination by the technical commission, have demonstrated that they possess the authenticity requirements both in terms of documentation and of origin of the car which is in fact still in the perfect configuration with which achieved prestigious results in the 70s.
It was the president of the ASI Alberto Scuro who delivered the plaque into the hands of Pietro Silva.
